This morning my sermon topic is: Find Freedom: Listen to the Shepherd's Voice

We are looking at what our response is to be for what Jesus has done for us.

There are two points: We are to listen; and, we are to go into action.

And the question of course is: “How are we to do this?”

We have two Scripture passages this morning. Psalm 23 is possibly the best-known Psalm in the Bible. Our second reading comes from chapter 10 of John’s Gospel. In our/both passage/s reference is made to sheep and the Shepherd, and I want us to explore their roles.

In the time of Jesus, the shepherds would bring their flocks into one enclosure to keep them safe. In the morning each Shepherd would call his sheep, and they would lead out of the enclosure to follow their shepherd because they knew his voice.
