Watchman Group:
Heyn Van Rooyen
A group that listens for what God is saying to Trinity. If people know that God is speaking to them with regard to Trinity, they must feel free to approach Heyn at any time. This group meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 19h30.
Prayer Letter & Crisis Prayer:

PASTORAL CARE
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to build up the broken – hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners……” Isaiah 6:1
These are prophetic words given to the prophet Isaiah about the ministry that Jesus would have when He came to earth. As Christians we have to continue the work of Jesus. At Trinity we have a desire to be the eyes, ears and heart of Jesus. From this flows a number of caring ministries.
Hospital Visits:
Please let Alan Cameron or Ilse at the office know if you are ill
Arrangements will be made for you to be visited.
Bereavement Counselling:
Elizabeth Gevers is the contact person
Compassionate people are available to come alongside those who mourn as a result of a loved one passing on.
"Loaves and Fishes" Ministry:
Anyone who feels called to participate in this ministry is invited to phone or e-mail the project co-ordinator – Dave Turner.
This ministry aims to support those members of our Church experiencing hardship as a result of a temporary loss of income generating capacity, making it difficult or even impossible for the breadwinner to make ends meet. The principle is based on "caring through sharing" and in line with 1 John 3:18 "… let us not love with words or tongue but with action and truth".
The support takes the form of the delivery of a consignment of groceries to the distressed in order to ease the burden of providing the "daily bread" for the family or direct dependants over a period of time.
Confidential channels of access to the ministry are available by phoning our minister, Alan Cameron (0825615454), by e-mail to Alan, or by placing a sealed envelope addressed to Dave Turner and marked "Confidential" in the box provided in the grocery trolley at the back of our Church on Sundays. Fellowship Group leaders can also be used to convey known needs to Alan Cameron or Dave Turner.
SENIORS
A committee organises several social functions each year. Keep an eye on the calendar for the next attraction!
Alan Cameron takes communion to those who are unable to attend worship services.
WORSHIP SERVICES
Mothers Room:
We have a beautiful room where mothers of small children can enjoy comfort and privacy while still being with their babies and being part of the worship services.
Parents who are receiving God’s Word are being blessed and then in turn they can bless each other and their children. We are delighted that we have this facility for you!
Sermon Recordings:
Contact John Weir or the church office
Sermons delivered at the morning services are recorded on audio tapes. They are available on request. The sermons are available on this web site. Click on the link on the home page and listen or save the sermon of your choice.
Flowers:
Do you enjoy arranging flowers? There is an opportunity for you to help in making our church attractive for weekly services. Please contact Ann Brown if you would like to participate.
Sound technology:
We have a wonderful new sound system! If you would like to undergo training in its use so that you can be the “sound person” at worship services, please contact Sue Hay.

Ministry Profile Workshop:
Contact Sue Hay for more info This is a programme designed to broaden your knowledge about spiritual gifts and your own particular gifting, talents, personal style etc, and explore areas where your gifts can be used in your own special way.
The A-Men’s Ministry was born out of the need for men to get together as a group to discuss the demands made on them and how to deal with these demands. The demands made on men as sons, brothers, potential husbands, husbands and as fathers. The demands made on men as role models in employment and in society at large.
A-Men’s Ministry aims to:
- Draw men into a relationship with Jesus (or a closer relationship);
- Bring men into fellowship with each other;
- Help men to support each other and be supported;
- Draw men into worshipping at a church; and
- Help men in their many roles.
“God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Gordon Hay heads up this ministry. Call the office (012 348 9469) for details about courses, retreats, breakfasts and functions.
EXTERNAL MISSION
Tithing: Trinity, as a congregation, sets aside 10% of its nett income (after payment of General Assembly and Presbytery assessments) for the support of concerns beyond our own community. We support ministry partners and organisations giving comfort, support, and training to the community as well as missionaries beyond our borders.
Outreach to Mamelodi:
CHARISMA COMMUNITY SERVICE DROP IN CENTRE (ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED UNDER SECTION 21) NPO number 054-199
Over a period of approximately five years we have joined together with the Charisma Community Church in Ikageng, Mamelodi in various projects. We have helped with the running of a Saturday morning School to provide extra tuition for primary school children, planted vegetables and trees, worshipped together, enjoyed friendship and joint men’s and ladies’ ministry functions. Most recently the two congregations have embarked on a joint initiative aimed at addressing some of the needs of families affected by the HIV/Aids pandemic as well as extremely poor families.
We realised that we could not possibly meet all the needs that there are, but decided to focus on nutrition, assistance to primary school children during the afternoons, and the adoption of families where possible. We also plan to develop a project that will sustain the Drop-In Centre and alleviate poverty by providing employment.
To date we have done the following:
- In addressing nutritional needs, Trinity families are currently supplying food parcels to families identified by Charisma Church and Mamelodi Hospice. The parcels are made up of items recommended by nutrition experts, and these are distributed each month
- In an effort to help and encourage young children in families affected by HIV/Aids and poverty, we established a “drop-in” centre at the Charisma Community Church. Forth primary school children are welcomed each afternoon, Monday to Friday, after school. Three sibling families account for 11 of these children. The Centre’s doors were opened on 22nd July 2003. A cooked meal is prepared for the children; they are helped with their homework; they interact with educational and outdoor games, participate in daily worship and are given care and encouragement. A kitchen has been built and equipped to serve the centre. Jeff Dhlamini involves volunteers to prepare the children’s meals and to be mentors and guides to the children. Trinity members have donated educational materials, clothes, and playground equipment to the Centre. A Trinity member who is a qualified teacher visits the centre regularly to help and encourage the carers as they endeavour to lay solid educational foundations for the children. A relative of a Trinity member visits the Centre from time to time to teach the carers about nutrition, hygiene and food preparation. The Centre is directed by a steering committee including Pastor Jeff Dhlamini of Charisma, Malcolm Brown, a session clerk emeritus of Trinity, Sue Hay the Ministry co-ordinator at Trinity and volunteers from both Charisma and Trinity. Operational costs are met by donations and contributions from interested parties.
- A "granny family” has been adopted. This family of 1 grandmother and 8 children housed in a garage is being helped in many ways by a member of Trinity, with the support of a fellowship group as well as the Trinity congregation.
- “Rainbow Notions” is a project which started in 2008. Twice a month a group of Trinity ladies goes out to Charisma Church to meet with the Moms of the children who attend the Drop-In Centre. They enjoy a time of fellowship and learn handicrafts and practical skills.
- Various other projects are undertaken from time to time. Details of these will be included in the Newsletter.
We are very grateful that these projects bring relief and hope to the children and families involved. We are giving attention to the establishment of a project that will sustain the Drop-In Centre and also alleviate poverty by providing employment.
It is our prayer that we will be able to bring hope to more people as these projects grow.
